ABOUT GLEN ALLEN ELECTRIC

Owner and master electrician Kevin McGehee Sr. has spent over 24 years in the electrical trade (10 years as a master) and offers a wide range of skills. He has grown up in the trade and is one of four master electricians in the family including his father; his brother is currently working on his journeyman's. Kevin began his electrical career in Tidewater with his father where he learned the basics of the trade and then moved on to KDS Electric in Chesapeake. There he expanded his skills within the residential and commercial fields. After several years at KDS, he moved on to a larger company: Watson Electrical Construction Company. At Watson, Kevin expanded his boundaries by completing work in all facets of residential work including custom homes, apartment buildings, and townhouses. He also completed many residential and industrial projects with Watson. After five years with that company, Kevin moved his family to Glen Allen and began work for Zzap Electrical Systems, Inc. For thirteen years he worked with Zzap on a broad range of commercial and industrial jobs. In 2010, Kevin was inspired to start his own business and incorporate into it his family values and work ethic. After living here in Glen Allen for 13 years and coming to love the community, the name Glen Allen Electric just fell into place.
